Home State Bank Makes 3 Yr. Pledge

Home State Bank in Jefferson renewed their three year pledge of $10,000 per year to Jefferson Matters: Main Street.  This financial commitment as well as support of their staff members on various committees and projects is very much appreciated by the JM:MS Board of Directors.

The 2015 Investment Drive is near completion as a review of 2015 activities and plans for 2016 were presented by President Jamie Daubendiek and Vice-President Amy Milligan to the HSB Board of Directors.  Investors of $2,500 or more will be presented information annually to show where their generous funds are being used.

Investors in Main Street can be individuals, organizations, retail and service businesses in the community.  Anyone wanting to be involved in making our downtown strong and revitalized through historic preservation is invited to become an investor.  Contact the Main Street Office for more information.

Evergreen Baskets Hung

basketsevergreen baskets groupMain Street volunteers put together the baskets of greenery again this year to be hung by the City of Jefferson on the lampposts in the downtown district.  When the lampposts are lit, the town is ready for Christmas!

Thanks to Jean Walker for coordinating this effort with the City of Jefferson.  Fifteen volunteers worked to put these together.

Mini-Grant & Paint Iowa Beautiful to Lawton Family Chiropractic

Lawton Family Chiropractic has been trying to take a look at their storefront to make improvements.  Through a Main Street grant of paint through Paint Iowa Beautiful, a group of volunteers painted the façade with a fresh coat of white.  Amber had a local construction company remove an air conditioner over the door and replaced with a board which was also painted.  For this improvement, she applied for a mini-grant and received $125 in reimbursement for that change.  We appreciate that Lawton Family Chiropractic is interested in doing what they can to improve the look of downtown Jefferson!
