The Design committee offers two mini-grants for buildings in the Main Street District.
The Building Facade Mini-grant application is for paint, tuck-pointing, replacement of windows & doors and removal of non-conforming elements of a building. The maximum request is for $500 per building. A simple application is needed prior to the project to be approved by the Design committee. A list of design guidelines accompanies the mini-grant application with recommendations for improvements in the District. Once the facade project approval is received the grand funds are available on a reimbursement basis with receipts needed. Before and after photos are requested. This will not fund labor costs. Volunteers are willing to help in whatever capacity they can.
The Storefront Signage Mini-grant is a 50/50 match for new signage – both wall mount and projecting signage on the exterior of a Main Street District building. A simple application is needed with a plan for the signage attached. There are a number of resources available for building owners on appropriate types of signage through the Main Street program. Once the design is approved by the Design committee, this grant is reimbursed with a receipt.
